Simply a monologue. Protagonist in UFC Las Vegas, held this Saturday (11), Merab Dvalishvili made the commitment to the former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.) seem easy, Petr yan. In a fight between candidates for a future title fight, the Georgian gave the Russian no chance, who ended up exposed in emblematic fashion for five rounds. After 25 minutes of confrontation, 'The Machine' was declared the winner in a unanimous decision.

With the victory, Dvalishvili continues to rise in the category. By passing the Russian, the athlete should take second place from Petr and put himself in a great position for a future title fight.

Easy prey for Merab, Yan had a disappointing performance in the UFC Las Vegas. In addition to the stumble, the former champion suffers his third defeat in a row and extends the bad phase in the company.

In an interview in the octagon, Dvalishvili assured that he will be bantamweight champion. The athlete, however, reinforces that he will not compete for the title while his friend and training partner, aljamain sterling, remain on the throne of the group.

The confrontation began with Dvalishvili looking for a takedown in the opening seconds. Yan bent his knees, but soon managed to move away. Afterwards, the Georgian returned to look for the Russian's legs, who launched a powerful low kick at his opponent's legs. Merab continued feigning his striking to induce Petr to make a mistake and thus be able to take him down. The Russian avoided getting closer so as not to fall into the former champion's trap. While abusing takedown attempts, Yan bet on calf kicks. In the final seconds, it was Petr's turn to attempt a takedown, but the Russian ended up falling underneath. Merab tried to take advantage of his opponent's mistake, who got up. The Georgian continued to press, not giving space to the former belt owner. The stage ended with Dvalishvili attempting a guillotine choke.

In the second round, Merab started more aggressively, throwing straight shots at the Russian's face. Yan found it difficult to hit his opponent and got the worst of the fight. Little by little, the Georgian showed more confidence and loosened up in the clash, nullifying the former champion. Halfway through the stage, Merab managed to take down the Russian. Yan pushed hard and managed to stay on his feet, but the advantage remained with Dvalishvili. With two minutes gone, Petr held off an opponent's shot and managed to take the fight to the ground. Experienced, Merab managed to stay on his feet and started to press his rival against the bars. In the final minute, Dvalishvili took him down again and managed to get to the former champion's back. Yan managed to stand, but there was no more time.

The third round began with the athletes measuring strength in the center of the octagon. Dvalishvili combined striking with grappling, while Yan looked for the 'element of surprise' to surprise his opponent. Halfway through the stage, Dvalishvili managed to hold on to the former champion and was pressing against the bars. Petr managed to get away, but the Georgian was incisive in his strategy. In the final minute, Merab insisted on the takedown, while Yan just protected himself. The stage ended with the athletes facing each other in the center of the Octagon.

In the penultimate stage, Dvalishvili continued with a great volume of fighting. In the opening seconds, the Georgian attacked the Russian and combined punches and kicks. With almost two minutes gone, it was Yan's turn to press his opponent against the bars, but without force. Merab managed to get away and continued to dominate the fight. In the final seconds, Dvalishvili attempted a standing guillotine, but there was no more time.

The last round continued with pressure from Merab on the Russian. The Georgian exuded physical vigor and did not give space to the former champion. Cornered, Petr worried about defending his takedowns and produced little in the confrontation. With just over a minute, Dvalishvili got the takedown and continued to nullify Yan. Halfway through the stage, Petr managed to get away, but was still cornered by his opponent. Almost in the final minute, the Georgian continued to take down the Russian, who continued to get up.
