Recently retired from MMA, Glover Teixeira will continue to be involved in the sport. As a mentor, the former UFC light heavyweight (up to 93kg) champion analyzed the rematch between his friend and pupil Alex Poatán against Israel adesanya. For the coach, the Brazilian champion will have a different scenario to the one he encountered in the first clash, in 2022.
“The fight will definitely be different. (In 2022), Poatan started losing. He took a heavy blow in the first round. I hope it's different, so we can win every round and end the fight in the third or fourth round. We can't leave this suffocation”, declared Glover, in an interview with 'Canal Encarada'.

Linear champion of the group from 2019 to 2022, Adesanya wants the throne back. To achieve the feat, the Nigerian will need to end his bad record against the São Paulo native. In three clashes, involving MMA and kickboxing, 'Izzy' never achieved a positive result.
