PFL announces first events of 2023, highlighting champion Larissa Pacheco and debut of Thiago Marreta

The first cards of the 2023 season were announced for April 01st, 07th and 14th, at the Virgin Hotel, in Las Vegas (USA)

On the afternoon of this Thursday (02), the PFL (Professional Fighter League) officially announced the dates and main clashes of the first three events of the 2023 season. The first three nights of fights will take place on the 01st, 07th and 14th of April, at the Virgin Hotel, in Las Vegas (USA). The lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) of 2022 Larissa pacheco and former UFC Thiago Marreta e Marlon moraes will be the Brazilian highlights in the shows that will open the year.

The first PFL event of the year will take place on April 01st and will also mark the start of two tournaments. Current featherweight champion, Brendan Loughhnane will debut in the new season against the former UFC bantamweight (under 61,2kg) challenger Marlon moraes. In the co-main fight, the current owner of the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg) Rob Wilkinson will have the difficult task of welcoming the newcomer and also former Ultimate Thiago Marreta.

On April 07th, the last heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) Before Delija the fight for the second championship will begin against the veteran yorgan de castro. In the second most important duel of the night, the last owner of the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg) Larissa pacheco will try to maintain the good moment after crashing Kayla harrison in front of the North American veteran julia budd. The clash will be valid for the first edition of the women's featherweight tournament (up to 65,7kg), created in 2023 by the organization. The lightweight grand prix was abolished by the league chaired by Ray Sefo.

Closing the events of the month of April, on the 14th, the last lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) Olivier Aubin-Mercier will begin defending his reign against the former UFC Shane burgos, which premieres in the new house. In the co-main fight, Sadibou Sy, current leader of the welterweight division (under 77,1kg) will face Jordanian Jarrah Al-Silawi.
