Commentator names favorite for rematch between Poatan and Adesanya for middleweight belt

Highlight of UFC Fight Pass, Carlão Barreto analyzed the rematch between Alex Poatán e Israel adesanya, who face each other again in the UFC 287. According to the analyst, the time for the new fight could be detrimental to the former champion, knocked out in the last meeting. For the former fighter, the Brazilian can repeat the success of his historic achievement at the end of 2022.

“I think five months is a short time between one fight and another. I don't know if Adesanya was able to recover psychologically and study enough to bring new things to the game”, said Carlão, in an interview with 'Portal do Vale Tudo'.

The analyst then named his favorite for the clash. Although Israel was successful in part of the first fight, the commentator believes that Poatan is fully capable of defending the title.

“I think Adesanya should repeat the strategy. The four rounds he won must be in his head. I believe Poatan has the advantage. Based on history, he is the favorite. He is Adesanya’s ‘kryptonite’,” he concluded.

No UFC 287, Alex will step into the Octagon for his first title defense. In addition to having his second clash with Adesanya under MMA rules, the Brazilian is promoting his fifth engagement with Ultimate gloves.
