With the officialization of his rematch against Israel adesanya No. UFC 287, Alex Poatán turned his attention to his first title defense at middleweight (up to 83,9kg.). On social media, the Brazilian 'threatened' his victim using the catchphrase created in the round that made him famous at the end of 2022. The confrontation between the fighters is confirmed for April 8th.

“Ready to kill”, wrote Poatan, in his profile on Instagram.

The only Brazilian to hold a UFC belt among men, Alex will try to expand his legacy in mixed martial arts. The São Paulo native qualified for a title fight in his fourth commitment with the Ultimate gloves.

In their first meeting, Poatan staged an epic comeback in the Octagon. After being dominated by the Nigerian for much of the fight, the Tupiniquim won the title by scoring an epic knockout in the last round.
