Five rounds of intense combat, with standout moments for both sides in what was one of the 'Fights of the Year' in 2014. At UFC 179, in October 2014, José Aldo derrotou Chad Mendes in the unanimous decision of the judges and retained the UFC featherweight belt in the main fight of the night.

The fight in question attracted the attention of fans due to the 'war' in the octagon, in addition to being seen as one of the biggest rematches possible at that moment.

The first Brazilian representative to enter the Octagon without wearing the belt was Bethe Correia. At the time, the Brazilian was undefeated and had beaten Julie Kedzie, Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler, three of her training partners. Ronda Rousey.

In the duel between the two athletes, at UFC 190 in August 2015, she succumbed to the American's striking power and ended up being knocked out in 34 seconds. The fight was for the bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg).

UFC 198, to this day, is in Ultimate history. The May 2016 event, which had Fabricio Werdum in his first defense of the heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg.) against Stipe Miocic, brought together an audience of 45 thousand people at the Arena da Baixada, in Curitiba. It is the fourth card from the organization that has brought together the most fans of all time.

What was supposed to be a festive atmosphere, especially with victories of Mauritius Shogun e Chris Cyborg, ended with the 'bitter taste' of a knockout suffered by Werdum. The gaucho suffered a counterattack and was already knocked out by the Croatian-American, in the first round.

José Aldo entered UFC 212, in June 2017, with the expectation of remaining undefeated in fights for the featherweight title (up to 65,7kg), fighting with the support of fans at the HSBC Arena. What he didn't expect, however, was that the 'passing of the baton' would happen to Max Holloway, who was interim champion and fought a balanced duel and managed a knockout in the third round.

The Brazilian, who chose not to give an interview in the octagon, left crying profusely after the setback. He later competed in the state against Alexander Volkanovsky, but was defeated again on points.

Amanda nunes promised and fulfilled at UFC 224, in May 2018. The Brazilian, who during the weigh-in assured that she would keep the belt, became the first Brazilian representative to remain champion. The 'Lioness', as she is known, dominated the challenger Rachel Pennington and won by technical knockout in the fifth round.

Amanda's triumph marked the third title defense of the Ultimate 'Lionea', which added to her 'collection of victories' and delighted the audience at the Jeunesse Arena, also in Rio de Janeiro.

UFC 237: Jéssica Bate-Estaca x Rose Namajunas

It was scary, but Jessica Stacker managed to wear the strawweight title (up to 52,1kg.) in the UFC 237. At an event held in May 2019, the Brazilian lived up to her nickname, throwing Rose namajunas and saw the North American hit her neck, in addition to being knocked out.

The Jeunesse Arena remained silent until realizing that its rival had recovered and, therefore, the category belt would remain on national soil. She was the last fighter to reach the top in Brazil. The next fighter will be Glover Teixeira?
