Son of a fish, little fish it is. But the 'little fish' can also take the family's gift to another sport. Living proof is Hiago Santos, son of Thiago Marreta, who scored a goal against Picos, from Piauí, and led Grêmio to qualify for the Third Phase of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup, the Copinha. The game took place on Thursday afternoon (12).
Damaged by rain and heavy pitch, Grêmio took a while to find their goal and found their classification at Hiago's feet. At the end of the first half, Marreta's son received the ball at the edge of the small area, shot with his right and filled the opponent's net. He plays as a midfielder and is 18 years old.

“Son’s goal (laughs). Good Good. Congratulations, Hiago. (…), I am here. Full of pride, as always. I’m proud,” said Marreta.
At 18 years old, Hiago Santos is hoping to be promoted to the professional team after the Copinha. He has a contract with the club from Rio Grande do Sul until December 2025. Marreta, in turn, signed with the PFL and should return to the cage in 2023.
