With the UFC's lightweight division (up to 70,3kg) busy, Beneil Dariush advised Dustin poirier thinking about retirement, after 'The Diamond', as he is known, refused to confront him, after winning Michael chandler No. UFC 281. Unsatisfied with the decision made by the North American, Dariush believes that, if the former lightweight champion maintains his stance of choosing fights, the category's promises will take his place.
“I wish he was a little more clear about 'what doesn't turn you on about me?' Are my fights not exciting enough? Or is it a question of skill? Or is it just because I don't have the name? Because if it's just because of the name, he should really consider and, I say this in the best way possible, I'm trying not to be inconvenient, but he should really consider retiring. Because if you're going to look for names, if you're going to look to fight only with guys whose names will add value, man, there are young promises coming up. You're going to have to fight one of these promises, and I'm currently at the forefront of these guys. So either get up or think about doing something else,” Dariush told 'Submission Radio'.

In response, Dustin poirier used your account on Twitter.
“Thanks for the advice, Benny! I'll take it into consideration. I don't know if you like 'hot sauce' (a reference to Poirier's culinary venture) but if you do, shipping is on me,” Dustin replied.
With the title fight between Islam makhachev e Alexander Volkanovsky, scheduled for the UFC 284, in February, Beneil believes that waiting is the best option at the moment, despite considering himself an impatient person.
“Waiting and seeing is not a bad strategy, surprisingly. Waiting and seeing isn't a bad strategy in MMA and it has worked for a lot of guys. But I'm very impatient. Even if I don’t act like that, I’m very impatient”, concluded the athlete.
Number four in the lightweight rankings, Dariush has accumulated eight consecutive victories since losing to Alexander Hernandez in 2018. In his last confrontation, the veteran beat Mateusz gamrot by unanimous decision, in the UFC 280, in October.
Thanks for the advice Benny! I'll take it into consideration. Not sure if you're into hot sauce or not but if you are free Shipping on me!👊https://t.co/SNEgodVkkT https://t.co/7FFwgKitk3
