The Brazilian Gilbert Durinho wants to take a new path for the belt, after his last defeat to Chimaev, in UFC 273. The athlete knows, however, that in a category with big names, it is necessary to win and convince, to stand out among rivals. In an interview with the channel 'Believe You Me', Burns said he's coming to finish off Magny and that it will be done quickly.

“I’m at a point now where one win isn’t enough. I need to finish and, to have that kind of finish, the training is different. I'm working hard to make sure that on January 21st, I put an end to this guy. Not just a victory, not a stupid decision, not depending on what the judges see. No more. I never liked it, but after the fight against Chimaev, I really don't want to. I don't want to depend on the judges. They are disturbing a lot of fighters, so I have 15 minutes to finish this guy and not let the judges make a decision for me”, said the Niteroi native.

At 36 years old, Durinho knows that his time is running out and that he will fight as necessary to get a second chance at the title. Unlike other fighters, the Brazilian said he will earn it and won't beg for a fight against the category champion.

“My goal is to become a champion. I want this more than ever now, because I know my time is running out. I'm 36 years old. I don't have 10 more years to go. So, I want to get some submissions, get a title shot and win. Perfect would be three submissions and win this chance. I don't want to beg, I don't want to ask, I don't want a favor. I want to win this. A devastating ending against Neil Magny it will bring me one step closer to that”, concluded the former welterweight title challenger.
