Bellator featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg), Patrick Pitbull has never hidden the desire to see MMA organizations holding superfights between their best athletes. On the eve of seeing his dream come true, the fighter from Rio Grande do Norte spoke about the historic event 'Bellator x Rizin', which will take place at the legendary Saitama Super Arena, in Tokyo, Japan (JAP), and praised his opponent, his compatriot Kleber Koike.

“I spoke so loud that they heard me on the other side of the world. This event is a milestone in the sport and I hope it is the first of many, as fans deserve to see the best of the organizations face each other. I'm very happy to be part of this story and that Bellator and Rizin are taking this step towards the evolution of the sport. I arrived (in Japan) on December 19th to adapt completely, since when my brother fought here, I had difficulty adapting to the time difference. But this time I arrived earlier and everything was perfect”, said Pitbull.
The Bellator featherweight champion praised his opponent and promised to deliver a show to MMA fans who will have the opportunity to watch the duel.
“He is a very good fighter, he has 27 victories by submission, a great record. He's no fool on his feet either. He's an experienced fighter, he just won Rizin's belt and has won seven in a row. He will definitely want the fight to be on the ground, where he is a specialist. But I intend to use all the event rules to my advantage. I trained everything, I'm ready to give the fans a typical show of how they saw our Brazilians at Pride. It’s going to be a very good fight for the fans”, concluded Patrício.
After regaining the featherweight belt in a rematch with A. J. McKee, the Brazilian made another successful title defense against the Hungarian Adam Borics, last October. The Brazilian athlete has a record in the sport of 34 triumphs and five setbacks.
