Former interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) and, for years, a highlight of the division, Dustin poirier is hospitalized after contracting a bacterial infection. According to the 'ESPN', the fighter was diagnosed with staphylococci and remains under observation. On social media, the athlete confirmed the information.
“I'm going to my second day in hospital. Things are getting serious,” she said.
According to reporter Brett Okamoto, from 'ESPN', the fighter's body would not have responded well to the initial treatment, via antibiotics. Athlete and middle team await new results after a new blood test.
Ultimate star, Poirier comes from a recent appearance in the organization. The athlete climbed into the Octagon in UFC 281, when finished Michael chandler, in one of the biggest battles in the 2022 season.
