Henry Cejudo had great importance in the evolution of the game of Weili Zhang in grappling. The former UFC fighter, who trained with the Chinese woman in 'Fight Ready', declared that the Brazilian Amanda lemos could pose a major risk to the athlete's legacy in the strawweight division (up to 52,1kg.). He also talked about a possible trilogy with Rose namajunas.

“I think the most dangerous fighter for Weili Zhang é Amanda lemos. Amanda can break because she is explosive. I think her and Weili would be an explosive fight, but I think the best fight for Weili Zhang after that fight it was maybe getting that trilogy with Rose namajunas. It was a split decision when she lost to Rose, but I think she needs to get it back. And I think because Rose has been gone for so long, she's only going to help,” Cejudo stated on his 'TV' channel.YouTube'.

In his first title reign, Weili lost to Namajunas with a head kick in the first round. She, for the rematch, went to 'Fight Ready' and, despite adjusting her grappling game, lost again to the North American by the judges' decision.

Last weekend, Zhang stepped into the octagon with the challenge of regaining the belt she lost in April 2021. Against Esparza, the athlete had a confident performance and won the victory in the second round, when she submitted the veteran. At 33 years old, Weili has 26 commitments in professional MMA. The athlete today has 23 wins and three losses.
