UFC 281 warm-up: remember all the middleweight champions in the history of Ultimate

This Saturday (12), Israel adesanya e Alex Poatán face each other in the long-awaited fight for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg), in the main fight of the UFC 281, in New York, in the United States. If he wins the title, the Brazilian will become the twelfth champion in the division's history and will join Murilo Bustamante and Anderson Silva as the only fighters in the country to become champions of the category.

Last Wednesday (9), the UFC published, on the organization's official YouTube channel, a video showing the belt wins of each champion in middleweight history.

The history of the category begins in September 2001, at UFC 33, with Dave Menne overcoming Gil Castillo to win the inaugural middleweight title. Murilo Bustamante, Evan Tanner, Rich Franklin, Anderson Silva, Chris Weidman, Luke Rockhold, Michael Bisping, Georges St-Pierre and Robert whittaker also had the honor of holding the 83,9kg belt before it reached the hands of the Nigerian Israel adesanya, where he has been since October 2019.
