With another grappling show, Jailton Malhadinho submits undefeated Swede at UFC 279

Jailton Malhadinho claimed yet another victim in Ultimate. Second Brazilian to take action in UFC 279, the Bahian promise was not aware of Anton Turkalj and managed to win via submission in the first round of the fight contested at combined weight (up to 90,7kg). As usual, the Brazilian showed off in the takedowns and grappling and had no difficulty finishing the fight with a rear naked choke.

The victory over Anton Turkalj was the third of Jailton Malhadinho in the UFC octagon. Without losing since 2018, the Brazilian now has 12 consecutive victories in his career.

Debuting in the UFC, Anton Turkalj He experienced his first defeat as a professional MMA athlete.

THE FIGHT

Jailton Malhadinho began the fight by taking the initiative and quickly fell, placing Anton Turkalj in floor. The Brazilian transitioned to the back. Turlkalj managed to get up, but the Brazilian suspended his rival and applied another beautiful takedown. Malhadinho maintained his position on his back and threw a few blows at his rival's face. Turkalj tried to get up again, but, trapped, Malhadinho took him down again, this time landing in half guard. The Brazilian got the mount and drew a katagatame. The Brazilian gave up his position and threw the “sledgehammer” at the Swede, who gave way again. Malhadinho quickly attacked the neck, closed the rear naked choke and forced Anton Turkalj giving the “three taps”.

In the sixth fight of the night, valid for the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg), Denis Tiuliulin derrotou Jamie Pickett by technical knockout in the second round. The Russian had a point deducted due to two low kicks on the American, but soon after he managed to connect with a well-aimed elbow that paved the way for the victory.

After debuting with defeat in Ultimate, in March, Denis Tiuliulin achieves his first victory in the organization. The Russian now has ten victories, nine of which were by knockout, and six career setbacks.

Jamie Pickett, in turn, suffers the second consecutive defeat in the organization. The North American now has four setbacks and just two victories in Ultimate.

Julian Erosa has a tough fight, but beats Hakeem Dawodu on points

In a fight valid for the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg), 'Juicy J', as he is known, was stronger and applied the best strikes in his striking, but was unable to knock out the Canadian, despite his efforts. Still, he emerged victorious in the judges' unanimous decision.

Erosa now equals the best sequence in Ultimate. The North American, who began his career in 2010, has three victories in a row and has a record of 28 triumphs and nine setbacks.

Dawodu, who had his first fight as a professional in 2014, feels the 'bitter taste' of his second defeat in the last three fights. In his career, there are 13 positive results, two negatives and one draw.
