The Brazilian MMA community was recently surprised by a supposed Thiago Marreta e Paulo borrachinha. The carioca, in an interview with the podcast 'Nem Me Viu', led by the former UFC heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg), Fabricio Werdum, declared that he had felt disrespected by the miner during a weight cut and invited him to a fight in the UFC 283, which takes place on January 21st, in Rio de Janeiro.
Now, it was Borrachinha's turn to give his opinion on the facts. On his official channel on 'YouTube', the Minas Gerais native denied that he had bothered the Rio native during the period of dehydration for the fight.

“They built a little house for Muppet, who fell. They said I had sent a derogatory comment and it fell through. He's a good fighter, he's not in a good phase and is coming off a defeat. But he is in another category. I have plans to make as much noise as possible internationally. I don’t think (a fight with) Marreta is the case at the moment,” said Borrachinha.
It does not stop there. Paulo also refused to be interested in a possible fight against his compatriot when his current contract with the UFC ends. He also claims interest in 'expanding horizons' abroad.
“This fight makes no sense. I have one more fight on my contract and I need to fight some middleweight, with a lot of international relevance. These are my plans. It's a thought I have. I understand that people would like to watch a duel between Brazilians, but it wouldn't add as much as an international fighter, who has a stronger international expression”, he concluded.
Borrachinha returned to the path of victory and ended an unprecedented sequence of two consecutive setbacks. The Brazilian overcame Luke Rockhold in a real battle in the octagon. He is in the final stretch of his contract with Ultimate and allows renewal, as long as there is an overvaluation in his salary.
