Ketlen Vieira reveals her dream of becoming a 'female version of José Aldo' and asks for a fight for the belt

Brazilian says she 'never wanted' to fight compatriots, but there is no other alternative for the title against Amanda Nunes

Ketlen Scallop is close to making UFC history. Possible next challenger for the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg.), the Brazilian reveals her desire to put Amazonas at the top of the world and expresses her desire to become the 'female version' of José Aldo in the organization.

“[Nunes] made history and beat the best, champion in two divisions. Certainly, if I can win a title fight against Amanda nunes, I will be turning a dream into reality and becoming the female version of José Aldo. My dream is to be champion, no matter what. I want to be the female version of José Aldo and become the first Amazonian UFC champion”, said Ketlen, in an interview with the podcast 'French Exchange'.

Vieira also says that, if Amanda nunes If she wasn't champion, she wouldn't insist on facing her in Ultimate. The man from Manaus says she doesn't like fighting against her compatriots, but there is no alternative, as the 'Leoa' holds the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg).

“I never wanted to fight Brazilians, because there aren’t many of us in the UFC, especially in the bantamweight division. Only if it's for the belt. But there is no other way, my dream and objective will always speak louder than that. I want to make it clear that I don't want to fight Amanda, I want to fight for the belt, and she is currently the champion. I'm not asking for anything absurd here, I deserved it. I won against two former champions. The only woman to do this was Amanda nunes, so I really believe I’m next”, concluded the fighter.

Second place in the bantamweight ranking, Ketlen Scallop comes from two consecutive victories in main fights over former division champions: Miesha Tate and most recently Holly holm, whom he surpassed in May this year. In his career, there are 13 wins and two defeats.
