Challenged by Tony Ferguson for a coaching contest in a possible TUF (The Ultimate Fighter), Khabib Nurmagomedov was publicly charged by the eternal rival. Upon noticing the onslaught of 'Bicho Papão', who asked for a concrete position from the Russian, the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) was evasive, but did not fail to provoke. On social media, the 'Eagle' responded ironically.

“I’m waiting for you to wake up first,” Khabib wrote on his Twitter account. Twitter.

Lightweight MMA icons, Tony and Khabib have an old rivalry. For years, the fighters were UFC highlights, but they never faced each other in a fight. What was once treated as a 'Dream Fight' was confirmed on five occasions, but ended up being canceled in all of them.

Even with Nurmagomedov's retirement at the end of 2020, Ferguson continues to seek to compete with the Russian, even if there is no fight in the octagon. Thus, the veteran's plan was to promote a coaching competition on TUF.

At first, the Russian accepted the challenge, as did Dana White, president of Ultimate. However, there is no contract or concrete fact that the project will get off the ground.
