Ultimate reschedules duel between Robert Whittaker and Marvin Vettori for UFC Paris, in September

What was in progress is now official. Ultimate announced this Tuesday morning (31), via social media, that the duel between Robert whittaker e Marvin vettori was rescheduled for UFC Paris, on September 3rd. The fight between middleweights (up to 83,9 kg) is the first officially announced by the organization for the first card in the French capital.

Originally, Robert whittaker e Marvin vettori would face each other in UFC 275, on June 11th, in Singapore. The fight, however, was canceled due to an injury to the Australian. Unsuccessful in searching for another opponent, the Italian agreed to postpone the duel.

Former middleweight champion, Robert whittaker seeks to recover from the defeat suffered against the current champion Israel adesanya No. UFC 271, in February. Since 2014, the Australian has not lost to anyone other than the Nigerian, against whom he has had two setbacks.

On the other side, Marvin vettori also has two defeats to Israel adesanya in the cartel. The Italian, however, is coming off a victory over the Brazilian Paulo borrachinha in October of last year.

Although the duel between Whittaker and Vettori is the first officially confirmed fight for the UFC Paris, other duels are already underway for their debut in the “City of Lights”. In heavy weights (up to 120,2 kg), Cyryl Gane must measure forces against Tai tuivasa, while in flies (up to 56,7 kg), Katlyn chookagian face Manon Fiorot.
