“I like Rose (Namajunas) and I'm a big fan of hers. I like the way she behaves, I like everything about her, especially her fighting style. But Saturday night, she screwed everything up. It's a high-pressure situation, I get it, you're a world champion,” Bisping said on her podcast 'Believe you me'.

The commentator also evaluated the pressure on athletes to maintain the position of 'number one' in the UFC. He also says that this harmed the performance of Namajunas, who was cautious in her actions and lost the title to Esparza.

“This brings a lot of pressure, we have seen other champions change their style. Georges St-Pierre would be a classic example because of the pressure of being the champion. You have all this extra money, you have the fame and recognition, plus many perks of being the world champion. That's why he wants to keep his position. But she was playing a little too cautiously”, concluded the Englishman.

Namajunas and Esparza have a history of rivalry that has lasted since their first meeting, in December 2014. On that occasion, Carla submitted and became the inaugural flyweight champion (up to 52,1kg). In the second meeting, the two fighters fought a tepid fight and, amid boos from the crowd, reached the decision, with a new victory for 'cookie Monster'.
