the return of Paulo borrachinha to the Ultimate Octagon already has a defined date and opponent. The Brazilian athlete verbally agreed and will face the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) Luke Rockhold in an event scheduled for August 20th. The organization has not yet decided whether this will be the main fight on the card. The information was first released by 'Combate'.

Former middleweight challenger, Paulo borrachinha comes from two consecutive defeats, the only ones in his career so far. Undefeated until then with 13 consecutive victories as a professional, the Brazilian athlete had his rise blocked when he tried to dethrone the champion Israel adesanya, in October 2020, and being knocked out in the second round. Just over a year later, the Minas Gerais native was defeated on points by the Italian Marvin vettori.

Former owner of the belt in the under-83,9kg division, Luke Rockhold has been away from the octagon for a long time. His last fight was in July 2019, when he was brutally knocked out by the Pole Jan Blachowicz. Coming from two consecutive defeats, the former champion has a record of 16 triumphs and five setbacks in the sport.
