Pitbull praises Volkanovski, but admits he has the necessary resources to beat UFC star in superfight

Absolute Bellator legend, Patrick Pitbull is not afraid to admit that he has the necessary resources to overcome Alexander Volkanovsky. Despite recognizing the UFC champion's talent, the Brazilian stated that the Australian is not unbeatable. In an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS, the native of Rio Grande do Norte revealed what he would do to interrupt his competitor's great phase in the event of a challenge.

“He is consistent, solid, a good strategist, powerful, fast. He (Volkanovski) fought against the 'Korean zombie' (at the UFC 273), a warrior, but apathetic, unable to find the distance. It seemed like (Zumbi) was out of rhythm. He wasn't a worthy fighter. (…) I like to fight hard, but hitting a guy who poses no danger is easy. It's different from facing a Patrick Pitbull, who will punch you and erase you. My difference with Volkanovski is this. We have similar physical attributes, but I 'get' a lot more than he does. Where I hit, if I hit it hard, I fall,” said Pitbull.

Regarding the fight plan, Patrício also gave his opinion. Dreaming of starring in a 'cross event' between Bellator and UFC, the athlete analyzed possible gaps in the Australian's game.

“Volkanovski is not a good finisher. He has reasonable wrestling. He doesn't use wrestling to take down and punish guys with ground and pound. He controls it well, just as he did with José Aldo. I master this timing of entering and leaving at the right time very well. A. J. McKee (the Brazilian's last victim) has a 21 cm advantage in wingspan and I managed to neutralize it. Volkanovski is the same number. It would be ideal. When he came to meet me, in this shock, I'm sure that 'it's over'. I know I'm the best in the world. I wanted this fight to happen. For this to happen, a fight between champion against champion would have to take place”, he concluded.
