Featured in the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg.) of the UFC, Paulo borrachinha, soon, may have a compatriot to share a space in the top 5 of the division. In the elite of the category led by Israel adesanya, the miner analyzed the meteoric rise of Alex Poatán in Ultimate. Exclusively to SUPER FIGHTS, the Minas Gerais native spoke about the kickboxing legend and even sent some advice to his group mate.

"Was fast. He (Poatan) has few fights, doesn't have much experience in MMA. They are different sports, MMA and kickboxing. Just seeing. He needs to show this in fights. I don't follow his training. You can't talk from afar. You have to see it performed. MMA is everything. Takedowns, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, kicking, boxing. It’s difficult to do everything at the same time”, said Paulo.
Even without knowing how far Alex can go in the middleweight division, Borrachinha has some advice to give his compatriot. According to the Minas Gerais native, the waiting time between one presentation and another can be decisive for the success of the former Glory champion.
“The only fight I saw from him (Poatan) was back there, in Jungle Fight. He has an appeal to fight (Israel) Adesanya because he won in kickboxing (on two occasions). The sooner he fights Adesanya, the better. If he is tested with a wrestler, with a guy he puts down, it could get complicated. If I were him, I would want to fight for the title quickly”, he concluded.
Former challenger for the middleweight belt, Paulo is looking for his debut in the 2022 season in Ultimate. In the division's elite, the fighter finds himself without opponents so far.
Former double Glory champion, Poatan already has a date to promote his third fight for Ultimate. On July 30th, the athlete faces Sean Strickland and, in case of victory, you can stamp your passport for a confrontation against the current champion.
