Leon Edwards' manager confirms UFC plans for rematch with Kamaru Usman

Member of 'Paradigm Sports', Tim Simpson doesn't believe in Khamzat Chimaev's 'queue jumping' for a welterweight title fight

Apparently, the next fight for Leon edwards will even be in a rematch against Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title (up to 77kg.). At least that's what the athlete's manager and member of 'Paradigm Sports', Tim Simpson. He believes the fight could take place in the middle of the year.

“I was told this is the plan. Kamaru's recovery from (surgery on) his hand is still pending, but I believe it will happen in the summer (between July or August). I don't know the details of how the recovery is going, but I can't see anything getting in the way of (the rematch), unless Kamaru is out for a year or something and they have to rearrange something," Simpson told the podcast 'The MMA Hour'.

Asked about a possible 'queue skipping' Khamzat Shimaev if the Swede wins Gilbert Durinho, in a fight that must take place in the UFC 273, Simpson stated that he trusts the guarantees that the UFC has given him regarding his next fight. Leon edwards.

“I don't think that will happen. He signed three agreements to fight Khamzat when supposedly no one else would. I believe the UFC will do right by him, and those are the conversations I had behind the scenes as well. I’m confident he has a fight for the title”, he concluded.
