Calvin Kattar ignores defeat to Max Holloway and shows confidence in beating Giga Chikadze

The featherweight number 5 was irritated by the questions about the beating he suffered against 'Blessed' and believes he can surprise the Georgia athlete

Beaten by Max Holloway in your last fight, Calvin kattar has already forgotten the setback and turned his focus to the duel against Giga Chikadze, next Saturday (15). On media day UFC Las Vegas 46, the featherweight (up to 65,7kg) was irritated by the questions about the defeat to the former champion of the category and believes he will be able to stop the momentum of the prospect from Georgia.

“You guys care about this much more than I do. It is funny. It's a normal thing. It happens. On your path to success, setbacks happen. It’s part of the recipe,” replied Kattar.

Even though he was considered a zebra in the duel against Giga Chikadze, Calvin showed confidence in his abilities and believes he is capable of causing the Georgian's first defeat with Ultimate gloves.

“I was aware (that I could face Chikadze, obviously). Anyone who can go 7-0 in the UFC, they're doing something right. Giga found a way to win, but I feel like I'm a different caliber of opponent than he faced. I feel like I have the tools to beat him”, concluded Calvin.

PUBLICITY:

Fifth placed in the featherweight rankings, Kattar was defeated by Holloway in his last fight, but had two previous victories over Dan Ige e Jeremy Stephens. The North American has an MMA record of 22 wins and five setbacks.
