The settling of accounts involving Petr yan e aljamain sterling It may not get off the ground, at least that's what the Russian says. In a promotional press conference for the UFC 267, the former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.) admitted that he has no intention of repeating the confrontation against the current owner of the linear title. About six months ago, the group's former leader lost his throne after taking an illegal knee in a fateful dispute.

“Sterling needs the rematch to prove he can do something. For me, I’m not interested if I win the belt on Saturday,” said Yan.

This weekend, Petr and Aljamain would resolve their issues once and for all. The champion, however, ended up getting injured and gave way to Cory Sandhagen, who is now competing for the interim title.

Even expressing his disinterest in sharing the octagon with Sterling, Yan needs to face his rival if he wants to unify his eventual belt. To do so, however, the Russian will need to get past Sandhagen, who, despite coming off a defeat to TJ Dillashaw, is one of the highlights of the category.

The duel between Petr and Cory will mark the co-main fight of the UFC 267. In addition to the challenge, Glover Teixeira e Jan Blachowicz they are making their second title fight at the event, which takes place in Abu Dhabi.
