At UFC 156, an event held this Saturday (02), in Las Vegas, the black belt from São Paulo dominated Jon Fitch and scored his third consecutive victory in the category. However, the president of Ultimate, Dana White, still does not see the Brazilian as a candidate for the division title, currently held by the Canadian Georges St Pierre.

At the press conference after the show, the director stated that he will wait for UFC 158, an event that takes place on March 16, to choose Demian's next opponent.

“It was a great victory for Maia, but Jon Fitch lost two of his last three fights. After this event in Montreal (UFC 158), which has several fighters in this category, I will find Demian’s next opponent,” said White.
