Infographic: Lyoto received more blows than he landed in victory over Mousasi in Jaraguá

Lyoto x MousasiLyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi fought a tough, balanced fight full of alternations at UFC Fight Night 36, an event held last Saturday (25), in Jaraguá do Sul, in the interior of Santa Catarina. At the end of 25 minutes of fighting, the Brazilian athlete was declared the winner in a unanimous decision by the judges and the Armenian fighter seemed to agree with the result. However, in the official numbers of the contest, Machida took more significant blows than he landed in four of the five rounds.

Despite the intense movement around the octagon and his accurate counterattack, Machida was at a disadvantage in the total number of strikes attempted, landed and significant attacks in the first four rounds. Only in the fifth round, the Bahian athlete based in Pará managed to reverse the situation and was more forceful. Even with the disadvantage in numbers, the Brazilian won the judges' decision by a large margin: 50×45, 49×46 and 50×45

To resolve any doubts about who was the winner, the SUPER FIGHTS prepared an infographic with the athletes' performance. Check out!
