“This thing with the Henry Cejudo it amuses me a lot because he is a gold medalist. “I’m a UFC champion, I’m a gold medalist.” I'll beat you in wrestling. Wrestling for MMA is completely different. I am the best athlete. I can beat him anywhere based on what I've seen of his fights. That's why I'm really excited about it. It’s the biggest thing to my name right now and it excites me so much,” Dillashaw said.
Even with the press appearances where the champions came face to face, Dillashaw declared that negotiations for the confrontation had not progressed.
“It’s nothing serious. There were suggestions and we did a press tour together. They put us together in front of the cameras and we talked shit to each other. Everything we did was real, but it was kind of like, “Oh, f*** it, is this what you want? If you think you can beat me, f*** you,” said TJ.
Henry Cejudo he also stated that in a superfight with Dillashaw he would like to move up to try to win the bantamweight belt.
“I don’t want excuses that I’m bigger. They told me I was going to fight Demetrious Johnson the summer before I fought Cody for the first time. In three weeks I dropped my weight to 63,5kg”, concluded Viper.
