Getting ready to face Matt Brown at UFC-111, Ricardo “Cachorrão” Almeida recognizes the versatility of his next Ultimate opponent. The Renzo Gracie black belt, speaking to the MMA Pro Rádio program, stated that he will have to have a lot of concentration to beat the American, but he feels confident.
“He (Matt Brown) is a prepared guy. He has a good stand-up game, takes the fight down well and then goes to define it”, says the Brazilian. “I need to have concentration to deal with the pressure, but I believe I have the necessary experience and technique to do well”, says the black belt.
“I feel confident to win”, adds the fighter, who will make his debut in the welterweight category (up to 77kg) and says he has no problem making weight.
“I brought a nutritionist to my training and we followed a controlled diet to cut weight. A few weeks ago I easily weighed 78,5 kilos. Now I'm 86 (kilos) and I feel that going down to 77 won't be a problem”, he adds.
The duel between Ricardo Cachorrão and Matt Brown is on the UFC-111 card, an event that takes place on March 27th, in New Jersey, in the United States.
