The former UFC Matheus Nicolau returned to Brazil in style. The fighter from Minas Gerais needed just over 70 seconds to submit Alan Gabriel Tilico, who replaced the injured Wagner Lima two days before the fight, and confirm his favoritism. The duel was an attraction at Future FC 5, held on Friday night (24), in São Paulo.

The triumph came after Matheus knocked down his opponent and followed up with a hand triangle.

In addition to Matheus, another highlight of the event was Adriano Ramos. The Inside athlete submitted Elton Alves with a rear naked choke in the second round and became the organization's first champion. As a bonus, Adrianinho also received one of the performance bonuses, pocketing US$500 (around R$2) in addition to the scholarship, and the contract with the LFA. In the interview still inside the decagon, he sent a message to Cuban Maikel Perez, current champion of the American event.

“I want to challenge the LFA champion! The best in Brazil against the best there”, said the Future champion.

Another Minas Gerais native who shone was welterweight Bruce Souto, who had an eye-popping performance against the resilient Wiilian Cilli. Souto presented an immense variety of strikes while standing up, got away with a dangerous attack from the São Paulo native on the ground and was only unable to achieve a knockout due to Cilli's huge heart. In the end, Bruce Souto, who still had a point deducted for applying an elbow that, in the referee's view, was illegal, won by majority decision. Both he and Cilli earned $500 each for the best fight of the night bonus.

The third bonus, also worth US$500, went to the strawweight division Ariane Sorriso. São Paulo began the fight against Ketlen Hot at full steam, and it seemed like the knockout would be a matter of time. But the Manauara rose from the ashes, grew in combat and started to pose danger to the favorite of the night. But in the third round, Sorriso showed why she is considered one of the best fighters in action in the country. With a frontal strike to the body, she made her opponent double over, scored the 12th consecutive victory of her career and, as a bonus, impressed the legend Rodrigo Minotauro, present at the event.

This edition also guaranteed a contract with the LFA for two other fighters: Edilceu Para-Raio and Flavio Queiroz. Para-Raio knocked the talented Wellington Kakaroto out of the fight with a stomp on the knee in the third round, while Queiroz sent Elvis Iron to the canvas in the first. Speaking of sending him to the canvas, Elismar Carrasco shut down Antônio Carlos Buiú with a relentless combination of punches in the third round, after being at a disadvantage for most of the fight.
